Interface of Macsome iPodTransfer

Tool bar: The basic control area of iPod Transfer.

  • Mac To iPod -> Start to select files on Mac to transfer into iPod.
  • iPod To Mac -> Transfer selected items on iPod into Mac.
  • Delete -> Delete the selected items.
  • Play -> Play the selected items.

 

File Browser:Several way to select files.

  • Search -> Search by inputting file name.
  • Genere ->Classify music/videos by genere, in Genere area, you can find all kinds of genere music/videos in the iPod.
  • Artist ->Classify music/videos by artist, in Artist area, you can find all music/videos of artists in the iPod.
  • Album ->Classify music/videos by album, in Album area, you can find all music of Album in the iPod.

 

File List: List files according to search or playlist.

    Tips: The file information includesNum, Name, Time, Artist, Album, Composer, Genre, Play Count, Size, Year, Kind, Sample Rate, Bit Rate, Comment. You can sort of songs and movies by Num, Name etc.


Backup files from iPod to Mac

    Step1: Run the software, and connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer via USB cable. After done, the iPod/iPhone icon and its library and playlists appear in the Device list. Notice that iPod Transfer finds all the music and videos in your iPod.

    Step2: Open the export iPod's library/playlist that you want to export files from it, and choose the export files.

    Step3: Click the iPod to Mac button, and you can also right-click context menu->iPod to Mac . Then select a directory to export your files into (I suggest making a new folder).

    Step4:  Click Choose. You can see the export progress bar.

    Step5: When the export progress finish, you can can find the files by located directory.

Tips: You also can export files to your iPod/iPhone by dragging files to the destination.


Copy files among iPods

    Step1: Connect Your iPods/iPhone.

    Step2: Open the export iPod's library/playlist that you want to export files from it.

    Step3: Drag these selected files to the device list and locate the iPod that you want to export files to it.

    Warning: Please make sure that your iTunes is closed when you run Macsome iPod Transfer for Mac.


    Transfer files from Mac to iPod

      Step1: Run the software, and connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer via USB cable. After done, the iPod/iPhone icon and its library and playlists appear in the Device list. Notice that iPod Transfer finds all the music and videos in your iPod.

      Step2: Open the library / playlist that you want to import files to it.

      Step3: Click the Mac to iPod button, and choose the add files, and then press Open. And you can see the import progress bar. This may take some time depending on the amount of songs and videos you choosed.

      Step4: When the import progress finish, you can get a prompt box. And the add files appear in Macsome Transfer filelist window.

    Tips: You also can import files to your iPod/iPhone by dragging files.


    Manage playlist on iPod

    You can create and edit playlists to collect your audio or video files for your iPod/iPhone. To create a playlist for your iPod/iPhone:

    Step 1: Run the software, and connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer via USB cable.

    Step 2: When the iPod/iPhone icon appears in the Macsome iPod Transfer window, select a playlist below the iPod/iPhone icon, and choose File > Playlist > New Playlist to create an untitled playlist. This will appear at the bottom of the list of playlists below the selected iPod/iPhone icon.

    Step 3: Type in a name for your playlist. Pick something short yet descriptive for the playlist name, as this will help you organize your music and video on your iPod/iPhone.

    Step 4: Add audio or video files to your new playlist.
