Interface of Macsome iPod Transfer

Tool bar: The basic control area of iPod Transfer.

  • PC To iPod -> Start to select files on PC to transfer into iPod.
  • iPod To PC -> Transfer selected items on iPod into PC.
  • iPod To iTunes ->It supports transfering file(s) from iPod to iTunes.
  • iTunes To iPod -> It supports transfering file(s) from iTunes to iPod.

 

File Browser:Several way to select files.

  • Search -> Search by inputting file name.
  • Genere ->A category of artistic composition, such as pop, drama and so on.
  • Artist ->The singer of each song or the protagonist of each movie.
  • Album ->The album which the music/video belong in.
  • Name ->The name of each music/video.
  • Time ->The duration of the music/video.
  • Comment ->The description of the file.

 

File List: List files according to search or playlist.

    Tips: The file information includesNum, Name, Time, Artist, Album, Composer, Genre, Play Count, Size, Year, Kind, Sample Rate, Bit Rate, Comment. You can sort of songs and movies by Num, Name etc.


Backup files from iPod to PC

    Step1: Run the software, and connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer via USB cable. After done, the iPod/iPhone icon and its library and playlists appear in the Device list. Notice that iPod Transfer finds all the music and videos in your iPod.

    Step2: Choose a libary or a playlist to show the files, and then select the files you want to backup.

    Step3: Click the iPod to PC button, then a window will be popped up.

Tips1: You also can right-click the files and choose the option Copy to Win, or click the menu Action and choose the option iPod to PC.
Tips2: If you want to transfer all the files in a playlist, you can right-click the playlist, then choose the option Copy to Win.

    Step4:  Choose a folder as the location for your backup files.

    Step5: Click the button OK, the files will be transfered to your Win.


Copy files among iPods

    Step1: Connect Your iPods/iPhone.

    Step2: Select one iPod and choose a libary or a playlist to show its contents. You can only make one iPod device active at one time.

    Step3: Select the files you want to transfer to another iPod.

    Step4: Right-click the files, then move the mouse to the option Copy to Device.

    Step5: Click the target iPod device, then the transfering will be done and you can view them in target iPod device.



Transfer files from PC to iPod

    Step1: Run the software, and connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer via USB cable. After done, the iPod/iPhone icon and its library and playlists appear in the Device list. Notice that iPod Transfer finds all the music and videos in your iPod.

    Step2: Click the button PC to iPod, you will see a window popup.

    Step3: Select the files you want to copy to your iPod.

    Step4: Click the button Open, then the files will be shown in the file list.


Transfer iPod files to iTunes

Warning: Before adding files from iPod to iTunes, please make sure the option Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to library is checked in iTunes, or once the device is ejected, the files can not be played in iTunes. And please click here to know how to check this option.

    Step1: Run the software, and connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer via USB cable.

    Step2: Choose a libary or a playlist to show the files.

    Step3: Select the files you want to add to iTunes.

    Step4: Click the button iPod to iTunes, or click the menu Action and choose the option iPod to iTunes, then you can see all the files you choose are displayed in the iTunes.



Copy iTunes files to iPod

    Step1: Run the software, and connect your iPod/iPhone to your computer via USB cable.

    Step2: Click the button iTunes to iPod, you will see the Add file box pop up.

    Step3: Select the files you want to transfer.

    Step4: Click the button OK, then you can see the files are shown in the file list, and after you eject your iPod, you can play files in your iPod device.

    Step5: After the Add file box pop up, you can click the drop-down box to choose a playlist to transfer files.



Manage playlist on iPod

iPod Transfer allows you to create a new playlist, rename a playlist and delete a playlist. To creat a playlist, you can:

Method1: Click the menu Device, then choose the option New Playlist.

Method2: Right-click any playlist of the iPod device, then choose the option New Playlist.

To rename a playlist:
Method1: Doube-click the playlist you want to rename, then input a name you like.
Method2: Right-click the playlist you want to rename, then selcet the option Rename, then input a name you like, the original name will be overwritten, then press the Enter key.

To delete a playlist:
Method1:Right-click the playlist you want to delete, then click the option Delete.
Method2: Click the menu Device, then choose the option Delete Playlist.



Edit ID tags

iPod Transfer allows you to edit ID tags, including Name, Genre, Artist, Album and Comment.

The steps of editing ID tags:

Step1: Select the file you want to edit

Step2: Double-click the property, like Genre, then you can see the original contents is hightlight.

Step3: Input the text in the edit box, the original contents will be overwritten, then press the "Enter".
